●  Prayer times this week will be on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00am, as well as on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00pm and Friday at 6:00pm

‘When we work, we work, but when we pray, God works’.

The Ladies’ prayer and study group continues to meet on Tuesday at 5:30pm in the Carpenter’s Arms.

The ‘A Life worth Living’ Alpha follow on course continues on Thursdays.  The next Alpha course will start on Thursday 16th September and there are some invitations available on the table outside.

The Imit8 youth group continues to meet this Friday.

The Men’s breakfast fellowship will meet next Saturday 15th July at 9:00am.

The Marriage Course which was due to start tomorrow, Monday 10th May, has had to be cancelled due to lack of support.  We will try and run this in the autumn and hope to have more people able to take part then.  The course is aimed at anyone who is married.  The idea is not so much to repair marriages as to provide the maintenance that is necessary for marriages to work properly.  For more details please speak to Richard or Kerenza.

The Carpenter’s Arms is open daily.  If you are not yet involved in this part of the church’s ministry I would ask that you please prayerfully consider if you can be involved in this.  Mary and David will be away until the end of May, so any extra help will be appreciated.

●  We are again at the point of needing to prepare Rotas for the next quarter, this will be from the beginning of June to the end of August.  I would as usual ask everyone involved in any way on a Sunday morning to let me know when they are and when they are not available within this period.

I would remind you that there are various House Groups which meet during the week.  I believe that it is essential for everyone to be part of a House group to ensure the development and growth of their Christian walk.

On Sunday 23rd May, Pentecost Sunday, we will be holding a Joint churches lunch and prayer event to coincide with the ‘Global day of prayer’.  Unfortunately The Mount is not available; I will let you know where it will be held soon as we find a suitable venue.

The forms are now available for the Church weekend in Antequera and we would appreciate people to fill them in as soon as possible to make the organisation smoother.  We would also ask for payment at the earliest opportunity as we have already paid out for the air fare for the speakers etc.  Some people have already talked to me about being baptised in Antequera, if there is anyone else considering this step who has not yet talked with me I would ask that you do so when you can.

●  We will be organising a Praise and Worship Workshop on Saturday 26th June.  This will be an all day event with a morning and afternoon session dealing with the importance and the biblical basis of Praise and Worship.  These two sessions will be open to anyone who would like to learn more about these important subjects.  There will then be an evening session aimed at those involved in leading Worship, which will deal with the practical side of things.  This session is aimed at all involved in playing and singing as well as those involved in manning the computer and sound desks.  A light lunch will be provided.

I remind you that the church is involved in a project with Compassion UK sponsoring children in church run projects in Kenya.  If you are still not involved in this and would like to sponsor a child please let me know and I will obtain some more profiles, it currently costs £21 a month to sponsor a child and it is a small price to pay to ensure that these children get a good start in life.

●  I remind you that we welcome any comments anyone would like to make about our services, or any aspect of Church life, please feel free to speak to me or one of the Stewards.

●  I encourage anyone with information of someone who is needing a visit to call me on 20040870 or 58137000, or email me at  minister@methodist.org.gi   We will endeavour, where possible to communicate any needs among the congregation so we can all pray together, and arrange to organise the necessary visits.

●  While every effort is made to provide accurate information it is inevitable that some changes will occur.  I will always endeavour to advise when this happens and we will try and keep the information on the web page as accurate as possible.
