A little bit about us
The Methodist Church in
Gibraltar is a growing and vibrant community of committed Christians
whose life is centred in joyful, meaningful worship, strong fellowship
and prayer.
We also run a café, "The
Carpenter’s Arms", where you
will find a ready welcome and wholesome, reasonably priced refreshments.
We can be found at 297
Main Street, just along from the Governor’s residence. Also on the
premises you will find a Christian Bookshop “Words
Aflame” with a video lending
library. Both the 'Arms' and 'Words Aflame' are staffed by volunteers.
We also run the
Alpha Course
twice a year with help from members of other Churches in Gibraltar.
Methodism has been part
of Gibraltar's history
since 1769 when Henry Ince, a soldier serving in the Garrison, began a
Methodist Meeting in his home.
The Gibraltar Church is
now strongly linked to Methodism in the UK through the
South East District of The Methodist Church.
